Spot Award Program

 

Purpose
To be used in situations where the employee goes clearly an extra mile and demonstrates commitment and contributions beyond day to day expectations. This award tells the employee exactly what they did well and why you appreciate it. The Spot recognition is a form of praise in a timely, direct, personal and specific manner. It says: “Repsol appreciates your effort”, “Congratulations on your accomplishment”, or simply, “Repsol noticed what you did” or “Thank you for a good job”.

Award
The employee will receive a thank you card and select a gift from the recognition awards site; Spot Recognition. The employee will be mentioned on the newsletter as a recipient of the award.

Criteria for Nomination/Selection
  • Must be a regular full time employee who has been employed for 90 days. No directors can be selected.
  • Employee must not have any poor performance indicators in job history spanning back one (1) year.
  • Employee must not have any active HR disciplinary actions pending.

Types of Accomplishments
The following are some examples of individual accomplishments worthy of a nomination for Spot Recognition Award.
  • Completion of a short term project in less time than expected or where there were difficulties to overcome.
  • Handling an unusually heavy workload, such as when co-workers are absent or when vacant positions are not filled immediately.
  • Development of new or revised procedures or other minor contributions toward improvement of department productivity.
  • Completion of a special assignment that is outside of normal job responsibilities.
  • Helping a co-worker who has an unusually heavy workload or a crash project.
  • Attaining minor milestones.
  • Making continuous progress toward goals.
  • Always going the extra mile with a positive attitude.
  • Always willing to help another colleague, either in their own department or another.
